Intract is proud that many of the senior roles in our organisation are held by females, particularly because construction and building has historically been seen as a male-dominated industry. Three key roles held by females in our Northern Territory operations includes Project Manager Nicole Brown, Project Administrator Jodie Brown and Divisional Administrator Mandela Yu. All three women are proud of their Indigenous heritage and are exceptionally hard workers who commit 100% towards empowering other Indigenous women.
Nicole is a well-known Indigenous advocate in the Northern Territory and in recognition of her achievements, she was asked to present at this year’s 8th Indigenous Economic Development Forum. Held on the 23rd October at the Darwin Convention Centre, Nicole presented to approximately a hundred attendees, where she talked on the successes of Indigenous Training on Intract’s Housing Maintenance and Tenancy Management Services contracts in Maningrida and Gunbalanya.
Intract was a Bronze sponsor of the Forum. We managed an exhibition stand during the event where attendees could meet with Intract employees to discuss our civil and building capabilities and our strategies for ongoing Indigenous employment and training development. Intract look forward to returning to the Indigenous Economic Development Forum in the future.
Intract prides itself on promoting gender diversity within our workplaces and we will always strive to set the bar for other companies operating in our industry.
