Project Overview

Royal Australian Air Force’s Base Edinburgh is situated 25km north of Adelaide within the Edinburgh Defence Precinct.

Intract Australia were engaged to undertake multiple estate appraisal work requests at RAAF Base Edinburgh for numerous buildings across the base.

Works included brickwork re-pointing, new compressed fibre cement (CFC) facias, structural stabilisation by building underpinning, concrete facia cancer repair work, gutter and downpipe replacement, carpet and vinyl floor covering replacement, repairs to walls and ceilings, salt damp remediation and concrete pavement repairs.

Some of the Buildings contained asbestos and required remediation works, which were undertaken under strict asbestos remediation processes. Due to the high risk in some areas of working next to high voltage infrastructure, the project team coordinated with Defence personnel to shutdown of critical infrastructure for short periods during these works.

The project achieved an Indigenous participation rate of 25%.
