Intract Australia is seeking driven and highly motivated applicants to fill a variety of newly created building trade positions to support our growing Building Services Team.

We are looking to fill both qualified and trainee / unqualified roles including plumbers, carpenters, electricians, plasterers, general handy persons and labourers in both Metropolitan and major regional Victorian townships.

Job Description

Reporting to the Building Services Team’s Construction Manager located in Melbourne, the successful candidate(s) will be responsible for the following:

  • Provision of building trade construction and maintenance services in building, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, plastering, and general building maintenance services (handy person duties)
  • Delivery of on-time issues resolution for Intract Australia’s clients in the areas of building maintenance and construction
  • Provision of proactive construction solutions with a safety focus
  • Highly safety motivated
  • Communication with site personnel, client representatives and tenants in relation to the delivery of maintenance and construction services
  • Proficient with safety procedures with all safety aspects and procedures relating to the building industry
  • Able to use programs e.g. simPRO or similar programs
  • Must have excellent reporting, communication and organisational skills
  • Other ad hoc duties as required.

To be successful, you will need to be highly driven with strong attention to detail and have excellent time management skills. Above all, you will possess strong initiative, the desire to develop and grow with Intract Australia and be a great team player.

Understanding of and sensitivity to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural issues is fundamental.

Familiarity with computer based applications and a current driver’s licence are essential and a willingness to travel to various locations across Victoria as required.

Applicants must undertake a full employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing as well as a National Police check, security clearance. Complete all required training and inductions.  Intract Australia is seeking a driven and highly motivated Apprentice Building Tradesperson to join our Victorian Intract team within the Building Services Division.

We are looking for applicants who are willing to learn, with the desire to develop and grow within Intract Australia.

Job Description

Reporting to the Building Services Team Construction Manager, the successful candidate(s) will be responsible for the following:

  • Maintenance on the work site and workshop
  • Cleaning and maintaining equipment
  • Assisting the tradesman and the following instruction
  • Manual labour
  • Use of basic hand tools

Experience in trade work is not essential but a proven successful work history is an advantage. This position is open only to those eligible to work in Australia. Must be able to comply with police checks, working with children clearances and drug and alcohol testing requirements.
